Updates

Sorry for the slow updates on playlists. I keep forgetting to stick them online when I’m at the station and end up remembering when I’m at home and don’t have access to the list of what we played. Anyway, a few weeks worth of playlists will definitely be up tonight!

Also, please tune in tonight at 7 pm EST for a spooky Halloween edition of Absolute Catastrophe! Requests can be sent here in the askbox, on our facebook, or via AIM to TheLobster.

Thanks!

The theme of this week’s playlist was to bring the br00t4lity to our listeners and show them that indeed ‘brutality’ is a subjective concept. To help us illustrate the variety that can fit under the label, we asked for a little help from our brutal-minded friends to contribute tracks that they considered brutal. Amongst contributers we had:

  • Jess of Invisible Oranges/Decibel with Valdur
  • Max of Spazz and 625 Thrash with Pissed Happy Children and Neanderthal
  • Will of To Live A Lie Records with Corrupted
  • and Derrick of Skeletonwitch with Belphegor and Anaal Nathrakh

We hope you enjoyed this week’s installment and we hope you tune in for next week when we do an hour with focus on regional and Ohio-based bands!

BRUTAL HOUR

Hey folks, we’ll be on in 10 minutes at ACRN.com doing a special ‘brutal’ hour! We’ve asked some of our musically-minded friends to contribute songs and Jess of Decibel/Invisible Oranges, Max of Spazz, Will of To Live a Lie Records, and Derrick of Skeletonwitch happily obliged with some killer bone-grindingly brutal picks!

TUNE IN!!

Sorry for the technical difficulties. There was a tornado warning, and I guess the harsh winds knocked our power out for a hot second. As a result, the soundboard restarted and our mics were not in sync.

However, we still managed to keep our listeners entertained by our bangin’ playlist!

This week’s playlist was focused on welcoming back our loyal listeners and introducing new listeners to the variety they are likely to hear on our radio show. Included in this ‘all hits’ playlist was everything from 80s hardcore to German thrash to Bay Area powerviolence to first wave black metal and much more! We hope that listeners enjoyed both our old school and modern musical leanings and got a feel for the range of underground punk- and metal-oriented music we’re into.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get the opportunity to talk on-air because a brief power outage as a result of a local tornado reset our soundboard to its defaults and kept us from being able to use the mics. To make up for it, we decided to add on a few songs to the playlist to keep the listening party going. We’ll get our gab on next week!
